It is not intended to keep large amounts of data under VMS.
Mass data reside primarily on MVS (see section 
).

As a FOPI member you may use
device F_POOL3 to hold some data in a pool of about 990 MB.
In addition, if you have locally attached tape drives you may use them
as mass data devices.
