• via VAX FTP:

  FTP <unix-node>

  You are prompted for account and password, then type:

  set type IMAGE                !!! important
  put  <vaxfile> <unixfile>
  get  <unixfile> <vaxfile>

  Note that VAX FTP converts file names to uppercase, while in UNIX lower case is recommended. You can protect the name from type conversion:

  put  <vaxfile> "<unixfile>"
  get  "<unixfile>" <vaxfile>
  exit

  Note that getting data from a UNIX system will not create a file with a record structure expected by our RAW/INPUT and DST/INPUT commands.
