There is a standard PAW available for playing.
If your execution path includes the location of the CERN executables
just type
paw
and you will get an X11 version of PAW.
If you have an executable PAWFOPI on your own just type that name.
PAW under UNIX should work much like on VMS and MVS,
except the features coupled tightly to the file or operating system.
Some known differences are
-
To my knowledge the PAW prompt under ULTRIX does not allow
the arrow keys to be used for command line editing.
Instead you can use the ! command to recall the last commands.
-
The CTRL-A and CTRL-G interrupt features are VMS-special and
are not available
on UNIX for the time being.
-
The CTRL-Y under VMS corresponds to CTRL-Z under UNIX. Use it only
in emergency. Usually the process remains in the system and you may have
to remove it with
kill -9 <process-ID>
