In-depth description

In the previous section, we have printed the 'help'-information which is part of the PAW-menues 'cave' (CAMAC-commands performing action in the front end) and 'database' (commands dealing with the disk file that contains the database). These menues serve for the CAMAC-control of set-up parameters like discriminator thresholds, walk settings, etc. In addition, the set-up database contains the addresses of the modules which digitize the analog signals from the detector. The standard user hopefully should not need to know about the gory details, but should be happy with the help-info from PAW. A sub-set of users in every collaboration, however, needs to sit down and generate the set-up database which the others are going to use. These poor guys need to understand how the software works, and they need to read the following chapters.
