Maximum Event Size

With the advent of the CDC events have become very large (several 100 kB). However, most people only need subsets of events which are usually quite small ( tex2html_wrap_inline1517 kB). In order to save memory on the frontend system there is an upper limit for the size of accepted events. By TDAS default (setenv TDASaccessEvtSize <size>) this is about 10 kB which should be sufficient for most people using filtered events. One can increase this maximum size individually with the PAW commands

ra/maxevtsize <size-in-bytes>
ra/i/o # dis- and reconnect
CAUTION !! This command sequence can interfere with data taking. Use it only after having contacted the TDAS people.

You may query the current setting with

ra/maxevtsize
